The New Renault Megane E Tech Electric: A Sharper, Smarter, More Efficient Generation - Coming Soon to Malta

Renault has officially unveiled the new Megane E‑Tech Electric, introducing a bold evolution of one of Europe’s most successful compact electric vehicles. First launched in 2022, the Megane E‑Tech Electric helped redefine Renault’s electric identity. Now, the newly revealed 2026 model brings even more character, improved electric performance, and next‑generation technology.

While the model has just been launched internationally and is not yet available in Malta, Auto Sales Ltd – Kind’s Malta is excited to share what drivers can look forward to when it arrives on our shores.

A More Dynamic and Confident Design

Renault has given the Megane E‑Tech Electric a stronger, more assertive presence on the road. The entire front end has been redesigned, everything except the headlights is new.

As Laurens Van Den Acker, Chief Design Officer at Renault Group, explains: “We have enhanced the perceived width and on-road stance of new Renault Megane E-Tech electric to give it greater presence. Its sporty, modern styling gives it an appeal that echoes its inherent dynamic qualities.”

This design philosophy is reflected in every detail of the refreshed exterior.

  • A sculpted, body‑coloured bumper
  • A new diamond‑pattern lighting signature
  • A closed gloss‑black grille with Renault’s updated visual identity
  • A forward‑leaning stance for a sportier look

The model also sits 20mm taller thanks to its new battery, while retaining the sleek proportions that made the original so distinctive.

Two trims define the new line‑up:

  • techno – refined, dynamic, and generously equipped
  • esprit Alpine – sportier styling, exclusive 20-inch wheels, and Alpine‑inspired details

A new Satin Blue colour joins the palette, with multiple two‑tone options available.

Improved Electric Performance and a New 500 km Range

Under the bonnet, the Megane E‑Tech Electric is powered by a 220hp wound‑rotor synchronous motor, manufactured in France and free of rare‑earth materials. It delivers:

  • 220hp
  • 300Nm of torque
  • Smooth, responsive acceleration

The major upgrade is the new 67kWh LFP battery, offering:

  • Up to 500 km WLTP range*

  • A compact cell‑to‑pack design for improved efficiency

Charging performance has also been enhanced:

  • 165kW DC rapid charging

  • 11kW AC charging as standard
  • Vehicle‑to‑load (V2L) capability up to 3,700W
  • Vehicle‑to‑grid (V2G) functionality (market‑dependent)

The dedicated RG Medium 1.0 platform ensures a low centre of gravity, balanced handling, and improved comfort thanks to updated suspension and steering tuning.
