The New Megane R.S. Trophy-R was voted the Sports Car of the Year by Echappement magazine.
Since 1982, the year that the magazine’s editorial team first organised this competition, a Renault sports model has received the highest accolade 7 times, and on three of those occasions, in 2007, 2008 and 2014, it was the Megane R.S.
Seven competing vehicles were tested by journalists from the magazine and by 2 rally drivers over almost 2,000 kilometres, on very demanding roads in the Vercors and Ardèche regions of France, including several special stages from the Monte-Carlo Rally.
The title of Sports Car of the Year was awarded by a jury of readers of the magazine, who cast more than 4250 votes, rally drivers, and journalists from Echappement’s editorial team.
